Reading List

Here are my top four books that I am reading/going to be reading. I am especially excited to read Lauren Wolk’s books that I have heard a lot about: Beyond the Bright Sea (Scott O’ Dell Award) and Wolf Hollow (Newberry Honor Book).

• The Mystery of Black Hollow Lane by Julia Nobel

Emmy's dad disappeared years ago, and with her mother too busy to parent, she's shipped off to Wellsworth, a prestigious boarding school in England. But right before she leaves, a mysterious box arrives full of medallions and a note reading: These belonged to your father.

• Wolf Hollow by Lauren Wolk

• The Girl Who Drank The Moon by Kelly Barnhill

Every year, the people of the Protectorate leave a baby as an offering to the witch who lives in the forest. They hope this sacrifice will keep her from terrorizing their town. But the witch in the forest, Xan, is kind and gentle. She shares her home with a wise Swamp Monster named Glerk and a Perfectly Tiny Dragon, Fyrian. Xan rescues the abandoned children and deliver them to welcoming families on the other side of the forest, nourishing the babies with starlight on the journey.
